Urban Life Solutions has openings available for the Crew Hand position in our Calgary office within the Landscape Maintenance division. Under the direction of the Site Superintendent, this position will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including the upkeep and maintenance of gardens, lawns, parks and grounds for industrial, municipal, and commercial properties, while providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
· Demonstrating safety leadership and safe work practices at all times
· Working in accordance with Urban Life Solutions policies and procedures
· Providing exceptional customer service & client experiences
· Maintaining lawns, gardens and other landscaped areas, which includes weeding, edging, cultivating, grass cutting, detail gardening, fertilizer application hedge trimming, manual snow removal
· Additional landscape maintenance tasks as required
Basic/Required Qualifications
· Minimum High School Diploma
· Valid Driver’s License (Class 5) and ability to provide copy of driver’s abstract
· Working knowledge of the use of common hand and power tools relative to landscape maintenance
· Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
· Ability to maintain simple records and make verbal reports
· Strong adherence to Urban Life Solutions safety policies and protocol
· Legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous landscaping, snow removal and/or maintenance experience is an asset
· Ability to take direction, learn and work independently as well as part of a team
· Motivated and energetic team player with an attention to detail and great work ethic
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
· Ability to perform moderate to heavy intensive tasks for extended periods of time
· Working in a variety of outdoor environments with the ability to withstand cold and hot temperatures
· Physically demanding position
· Significant standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling
· Repetitive motions
· Ability to regularly lift, carry, push and pull weights of up to 100 lbs
