Position Summary
The Mill Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mill and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports continuous production by minimizing downtime and maintaining machinery in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of mill equipment and production machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct preventative maintenance according to scheduled programs.
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently in compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements.
- Maintain maintenance logs, repair records, and inspection reports.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair requests.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe work practices in maintenance areas.
- Communicate effectively with production staff and supervisors regarding equipment status and repair timelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial maintenance, mill operations, or mechanical repair.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and technical instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Pay: From $35.02 per hour
