POSITION SUMMARY
The Faculty of Natural Science at The King’s University is seeking a Sessional Instructor(s) in Computing
Science for the following courses in the 2026-27 academic year. Candidates are welcome to apply for an
individual course, or all listed courses.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
Fall 2026
CMPT 350 – Computer Architecture (Lecture)
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 1:00 - 1:50
This course examines the basic principles and issues of computer organization and architecture.
Topics include: the Von Neumann architecture, CISC and RISC architectures, one and two pass
assemblers, loaders and linkers, macro-processors, compilers, interpreters and operating systems.
Winter 2027
CMPT 305 - Object-Oriented Programming (Lab only)
Thursdays, 2:00 - 4:50 Lab
This course will further develop object-oriented analysis, design and programming. Topics include:
objects, classes, constructors, methods, messages, parameters, inheritance, interfaces,
encapsulation, polymorphism, and reuse. A large-scale object oriented example will be presented.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MA or PhD in Computing Science or related field
- Post-secondary teaching experience as either a primary instructor or teaching assistant
