The Warehouse-Inventory Supervisor oversees all aspects of the warehouse-Inventory functions, including but not limited to, inventory control, warehouse operations, production replenishment, defective/slow moving inventory, and shipping/receiving. This individual will help resolve internal or external issues as they relate to the department and bring continuity between teams while maintaining company culture.
Duties and Responsibilities
·Ownership and accountability for the inventory control and warehouse management of all inventories both internally and externally; including variance reconciliation, process improvement actions, to minimize production stoppages.
·Use Lean Manufacturing philosophies to review, audit, and improve current practices and use as a tool in training and mentoring the group.
·Review, develop, improve SOP’s and work instructions; mentor and train staff; instill discipline and compliance to ensure data integrity.
·Responsible for Inventory and warehouse organization to continuously improve efficiencies.
·Ensure cycle counts are conducted; daily, weekly, monthly based on product ABC analysis.
·Generate, analyze and take action for inventory turns performance levels, slow moving/obsolete items and supplier return material authorizations.
·Report on warehouse performance and shipping/receiving speed and error rates based on establishing and measuring warehouse KPI’s.
·Conduct regular reviews for item location management to increase efficiency and accuracy when receiving or picking orders. Including setting up and maintaining min/max levels on consumables and packaging.
·Manage both inbound and outbound logistics including customs documents and freight quotes.
·Perform other duties as required.
·Minimum High school diploma, Degree, GED (Pursuing Supply Chain diploma or designation will be considered an asset) and 5+ years of on the job training/experience. Previous leadership or project management experience or involvement in continuous process improvement programs will be an asset.
·Experience managing, directing and providing training to a team
·Able to apply Lean manufacturing principles to improve processes
·Highly proficient in the use of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and other databases
·Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Analytical and strong problem solver
·Experience in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Must successfully pass a background check
