Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Consultant to join our team. This role involves assisting customers with their parts needs, managing inventory, and providing exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have experience in dealership operations, retail sales, and automotive repair, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with dealership systems are highly desirable to effectively serve a diverse clientele.
Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct parts for their vehicles or equipment
- Manage inventory levels using dealership or CMMS systems to ensure availability of parts
- Process sales transactions accurately through POS and cashiering systems
- Provide expert advice on automotive repairs, maintenance, and part compatibility
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and clear communication
- Fulfill orders efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation
- Maintain organized records of sales, returns, and inventory movements
- Support marketing efforts by promoting parts specials or new product lines
- Collaborate with service technicians and sales teams to meet customer needs and sales goals
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the parts department area
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or background in automotive repair preferred
- Strong retail sales skills with the ability to upsell and negotiate effectively
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Excel, and order fulfillment processes
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Familiarity with CMMS software, marketing strategies, and sales management techniques
- Cash handling experience with accuracy and integrity
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage inventory and customer orders efficiently
- Good math skills for calculating prices, discounts, and part quantities
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of automotive parts, maintenance procedures, and phone etiquette is highly beneficial
