Role Purpose
The Tasting Room Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving retail and wine sales in a dynamic, fast-paced winery environment. This role is integral to showcasing the brand, building customer loyalty, and ensuring smooth day-to-day tasting room operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Experience & Hospitality
· Deliver warm, engaging, and educational tasting experiences
· Build authentic connections with guests to enhance loyalty and repeat visits
· Promote and sell wines, wine club memberships, and retail merchandise
· Represent and champion BC wine culture with enthusiasm and knowledge
2. Sales & Retail Execution
· Consistently meet or exceed individual and team sales targets
· Execute effective upselling and cross-selling techniques
· Maintain an inviting and well-merchandised retail space
3. Operations & Administration
· Operate POS systems and manage transactions accurately
· Support reservation systems and guest flow management
· Perform opening and closing procedures
· Assist with restocking and product organization
· Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of the facility
4. Team Contribution
· Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service
· Support colleagues across functions during high-volume periods
· Participate in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities

Qualifications & Experience
Required:
· Experience in wine hospitality, retail, or customer-facing sales
· Familiarity with POS and reservation systems (e.g., Tock, Qualo)
· Serving It Right certification
Preferred:
· WSET certification or equivalent wine education
· 1+ year experience in wine service
Role Details
· Ability to lift up to 15–18 kg (40 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment
· Must have a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
· Shift lengths of 4–8 hours
· Fast-paced, guest-facing environment, Seasonal (May–October) with potential for extended opportunities
· Full-time / Part-time
Compensation & Benefits
· $19.00–$20.00 per hour + tips
