We are hiring a full-time Summer Student to support various functions and programs being managed by the Healthcare Strategy & Innovation team at Shoppers Drug Mart. This team identifies, explores and develops new healthcare innovation opportunities that may complement existing businesses/partnerships including Pharmacy Services, PC Health app, Healthcare Services (e.g., primary care, dietitians), Virtual Care, etc.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Healthcare Strategy & Innovation , the Summer Student will support multiple workstreams, including, but not limited to:
Support partner and vendor management activities, including setting meetings and agendas, creating project plans and executing new initiatives
Conduct research for healthcare innovation and strategy initiatives present back key findings to stakeholders and develop POVs on next steps
Support data, reporting and performance requirements, including summarizing key trends and areas of opportunity for the Health & Wellness businesses
Collaborate on business cases for new areas of opportunity, including market research and preparing user stories and journey maps
Participate in user acceptance testing for new and upcoming product releases on PC Health, in addition to support for PC Health activities, as required
Support in the creation of presentations for senior/executive stakeholders
Other high priority and strategic work activities as assigned by the Senior Director and team
You will gain experience and exposure in the creation, development and implementation of healthcare innovation and strategy initiatives, including how to execute new businesses, products and services. Y ou will be joining an entrepreneurial and motivated team working to transform the healthcare experience in Canada!
What You'll Do:
Gain experience in the development and implementation of healthcare innovation and strategy
Build innovative solutions using qualitative and quantitative insights to drive new and existing businesses
Track progress of key initiatives with a focus on alignment with the Health & Wellness strategy
Provide regular updates and reports to the Senior Manager and leadership team on progress across key initiatives
Work collaboratively on the project management of new initiatives by creating and owning the project plans and project charters
Assist in defining new business workflow processes
What You'll Need:
Enrolled in post-secondary education or a recent graduate, preferably with a healthcare and/or technical background
Strong computer skills required in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
Strong interest in healthcare innovation and product development
Experience working successfully and collaboratively across diverse teams
Analytical and highly organized, with a high degree of attention to detail
