Job Overview
Central Hastings Early Education & Childcare is a registered charitable organization providing licensed childcare through five locations in Madoc and Marmora.
Reporting to the board of directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall operations and plays a pivotal role in leading our organization towards achieving its mission and strategic objectives. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in operational development, financial management, leadership, process improvement, and project management.
Duties Include: (but not limited to)
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls the day to day operations of the childcare facility, including scheduling for business needs, opening and closing
- Ensuring that processes are in place that effectively delivers quality care & service.
- Complete annual licensing requirements and ensure that the Organization operates in compliance with all applicable legislation and agreements.
- Identifying and leading business development initiatives to enhance organizational growth and sustainability and care capacity.
- Ongoing monitoring and completion of monthly financial requirements such as billing, payables, receivables and payroll.
- Leadership, mentoring and coaching a team of staff members, including hiring and training new staff, arrange staff scheduling, coaching and staff performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of continuous organizational improvement.
- Negotiate contracts and partnerships that align with the organization’s goals.
- Promoting professional development and teamwork.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences to enhance visibility and support.
- Monitor organizational performance metrics and report on progress to the board of directors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in leadership roles within non-profit or similar organizations.
- A combination of education and experience in one or more of: Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Project Management or a related field.
- Strong skills in leadership, business development, project management, and process improvement.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of building successful partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving common goals.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of early childhood education, the CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen? is an asset.
- A vehicle and valid driver’s license for commuting between sites and for meetings with outside agencies
- Ability to provide a suitable Vulnerable sector screening.
- Up to date immunization record (or authorized exemption) required as per Hastings Prince Edward Public Health.
