Early Childhood Educator
Shooting Stars Daycare
Shooting Stars Daycare is looking for an energetic and passionate educator to join our team! This position primarily involves working with school-aged children (5–12 years old) in our after-school program. They may also work with children 2-5 from time to time.
We are seeking someone who is caring, responsible, and enthusiastic about supporting children’s development in a safe and engaging environment. Candidate must be comfortable working with children of all abilities.
Position Details
- Job Type: Part-Time - Summer (Possibility
- Hours: Approximately 20 - 30 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours covering sick leave and vacations
- Typical Shift: Monday–Friday, 12:00PM – 5:30 PM
- Additional Hours: More hours possible to cover vacations
- Operating Hours: Shifts may be scheduled between 6:45 AM – 5:30 PM (maximum 9-hour shifts)
- No evenings or weekends
- Start Date: Flexible / As soon as possible
- Wage: $16.83 – $27.33 per hour, depending on education and qualifications
- Minimum Age: Candidates must be 16 years or older

Responsibilities
- Ensure the care, safety, and well-being of children at all times
- Plan and support engaging activities for school-aged children
- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment
- Complete required paperwork and documentation
- Assist with light housekeeping duties
Required Qualifications (Must be obtained prior to employment)
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- SD Record Check (completed during interview process)
- Current Workplace Standard First Aid & CPR
Preferred Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
- NB Curriculum Framework Certificate
- Food Handler Certification
- Inclusion Training
- Experience working with children
- Bi-lingual (English and French)
