The Dianne and Irving Kipnes Urology Center, located on the 7th Floor of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic (KEC), has a vision to provide state of the art urology care in an academic and research environment. We are seeking an experienced, innovative and motivated Administrative Support IV interested in applying your knowledge and skills to make a difference in the lives of patients and staff. Working under the direction of the Kipnes Management team, the Adminstrative Support IV is a key member of the Kipnes multidisciplinary team supporting the clinical activities within the Kipnes Urolgogy Center. This Administrative Support IV - Referral and Triage position is responsible for the effective performance of clerical activities related to scheduling, confirmation of new patient appointments, obtaining appropriate clinic documents, booking of tests and procedures, communicating with a range of health-related personnel and with patients/families. Duties include entering, updating and searching for information utilizing computerized information systems. Additional responsibilities include managing incoming telephone calls, scanning, faxing, mailing letters or patient information. The successful incumbent will be expected to work in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:
Heart & Stroke Foundation CPR BLS – HCP required. Successful completion of Medical Terminology required. Understanding of the clerical/administrative support needs for urology and/or oncology patients required. Minimum of three years recent experience in a health care based organization (medical office or hospital setting) working as an administrative assistant is required within the past 5 years. Requires excellent working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office including but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook e-mail and Calendar is required. Demonstration of excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet timelines with minimal supervision required. Self-direction, adaptability and flexibility are required while working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment. Required on occasion to transfer or transport patients and equipment, which may involve pushing or pulling. Walking, sitting or standing for extended periods frequently required. Required to be able to lift equipment and/or deliveries for transport to the appropriate team members. Requires experience and skills with telephone answering and trouble-shooting calls. Previous data entry experience required.
