Hammer Heroes is looking for a hard-working and experienced General Contractor. The position will support the day-to-day manual labour on construction sites required on various company projects.

Key Accountabilities:
- Follow direction from the Project Lead or other Senior Personnel
- Supervise and/or liaise with trades people, other contractors and consultants
- Keep vehicles and tools clean and in good working order at all times
- Mandatory skillset in the following areas required;
- Demolition
- Framing
- Insulation and Drywall
- Taping & Sanding, Prime & Painting
- Finish carpentry
- Rough carpentry
- Flooring Installation (hardwood, tiles, carpet, vinyl)
- Plumbing (replace toilet/sink/faucet, shut-off valves or fix pipe leaks)
- Door lock repair and installation
- Electrical repairs (replace light fixtures, ballasts)
- General Troubleshooting and Damage Assessment
- General touch-up painting
- Landscaping maintenance - All year around seasonal maintenance care for all properties exterior and interior including Plowing and salting, grass cutting, hedging and removal of debris
- Purchase materials/ as per project requirements
- Attend coordination and progress meetings; make regular trips to sites during construction including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks and construction closeout
- Ensure safety regulations are followed on site at all times and report breaches to owners with solution
- Identify hazards, develop recommendations and/or solutions and consistent follow up to assure compliance
- Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements (i.e. Daily and Monthly Responsibilities)
- Manage subcontractors and labor related to the job
- Travelling required for all properties across Ontario
- Overnight Stay up to 10 days to complete renos with Senior Team if needed
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- · Must be willing to work at 45-60 hour work week as required
- · Completion of High School Diploma an asset
- · General understanding and use of Microsoft Office – Outlook/Word/Excel an asset
- · Must have good English verbal and skills
- · Familiarity and experience with general hand and power tools and equipment
- · Minimum of 3 years of construction/handy-man or related experience
- · Able to be flexible, self-motivated and take initiative
- · Able to work independently and in a team environment where mutual support is essential
- · Able to plan and organize work efficiently and effectively
- · Able to perform physical work including bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50lbs
- · Able to follow safe work procedures to keep self and others safe while operating various power and hand tools as well as handling hazardous chemicals
- · Able to work in variable environments including dust, warm or cold temperatures, etc.
- · Must provide own PPE, basic tools and drill
- · Previous WHMIS training and experience working with hazardous chemicals (Will be considered ASSET)
- · Valid G License in good standing with a clean drivers abstract
- · Any licenses/certifications will be considered an Asset
Shift Schedule:
- Monday to Friday - 7:00am Start
- A Flexible Schedule for Daily, Evenings, Weekends and Holidays as required due to peak periods, work site visits or emergencies
