Al's Hotshot & Trucking Services Ltd. is looking for an experienced, safety-focused Class 1 Winch Truck Driver to join our oilfield hauling team. The driver will be responsible for safely loading, securing, hauling, and unloading oilfield equipment while working closely with dispatch, site supervisors, and customers.
Job type: Full-time, on-call oilfield work
Location: Wainwright, AB; Lloydminster, AB; surrounding locations, mainly in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
What You’ll Do
- Operate winch trucks to load, secure, transport, and unload oilfield equipment and materials.
- Haul heavy equipment, drilling and service rig components, 400–1000 BBL tanks, rig mats, and other related oilfield and heavy equipment loads.
- Pull various trailer combinations as required for customer and jobsite needs.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Perform camp work as required, including travel to and from camp-based oilfield locations.
- Complete hourly work while on the road, including driving, waiting, loading, unloading, and jobsite support as required.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, load documents, hazard IDs, and other required paperwork.
- Follow company safety policies, client site requirements, transportation regulations, and load securement standards.
- Attend and participate in online/in person monthly safety meetings and onsite safety meetings.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, supervisors, customers, and other field personnel.
- Work independently when required while maintaining safe work practices at all times.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence.
- Current commercial driver’s abstract required with application.
- Previous winch truck experience required.
- Oilfield hauling experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of load securement, weights, dimensions, and safe hauling practices.
- Ability to operate safely in oilfield, off-road, and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to pass pre-employment fit testing and drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be reliable, safety-minded, and able to work on-call as required.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Must have a personal phone capable of using the Axon and Motive apps for job dispatches and hours of service, and the SiteDocs app for safety documentation and reporting.
