Job Overview
Jim Tubman Chevrolet is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Automotive Detailer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning, restoring, and maintaining both the interior and exterior of vehicles to ensure they meet our high-quality standards for customers and dealership inventory.
This role requires strong attention to detail, efficiency, and pride in delivering exceptional results while working in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
Exterior Detailing
- Wash, polish, wax, and buff vehicle paint to maintain a high-quality finish
- Clean wheels, rims, tires, and exterior/interior glass surfaces
- Apply protective coatings and treatments when required
Interior Detailing
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets, seats, and upholstery
- Clean dashboards, consoles, and interior surfaces
- Deodorize interiors and apply appropriate interior protectants
Cleaning & Detailing Techniques
- Use professional detailing products including cleaning agents, leather conditioners, and surface protectants
- Operate equipment such as pressure washers, buffers, and extractors
Inspection & Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect vehicles for damage, stains, or imperfections and report findings
- Maintain and clean detailing equipment and supplies
Safety & Organization
- Follow safety procedures when using machinery and cleaning chemicals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Lot Management
- Move and position vehicles within the lot or service area
- Assist with vehicle preparation for delivery or display
- Support inventory organization and rotation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good physical stamina with the ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weight
- Knowledge of automotive detailing products, tools, and techniques is an asset
- Strong time management skills and ability to work efficiently
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Valid driver’s license required
Working Environment
This position is based at a busy automotive dealership and involves hands-on, physical work. Tasks may take place indoors or outdoors depending on operational needs.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous automotive detailing experience is an asset, but training may be provided for the right candidate
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: $19.00 per hour
- Compensation may be adjusted based on experience and qualifications
