G&J Equipment and Tools Inc. is one of Ontario's fastest-growing heavy equipment dealers. As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a hands-on Heavy Equipment Service Manager who wants more than just a job. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company, help build our service department, and play a key role in shaping the future of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily shop operations and technician workflow
- Build and improve service systems, processes, and standards
- Lead, mentor, and support technicians and service staff
- Schedule repairs, warranty work, and machine preparation
- Ensure service jobs are completed efficiently and professionally
- Work closely with sales, parts, and management teams
- Develop customer service procedures and improve customer satisfaction
- Monitor shop productivity, quality control, and safety compliance
- Help recruit and train future service personnel as the department grows
Qualifications:
- Previous experience managing a heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, trucking, or construction equipment service department
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
- Ability to build processes and improve operational efficiency
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience with mini excavators, skid steers, and compact equipment is considered an asset
