The Department of Psychology at the University of Calgary invites applications for a full-time Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Cognitive Science at the Assistant Professor rank, to begin July 1, 2019.

The Department is seeking applications from individuals with a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field. Applicants should have an established research focus in cognitive science, including topics such as (but not limited to) perception, attention, language, learning, and memory, focusing on any stage in the lifespan (children, young adults, or older adults). Integration of neuroimaging or neuroscience methods in the applicants ‘research would be an asset. Selection criteria for this position will include research excellence and originality, demonstrated effectiveness in teaching and supervision, and demonstrated ability (or strong potential) to secure competitive external funding. These criteria will be judged based on the quantity and quality of publications to date; teaching dossier with ratings or other indications of quality; awards, scholarships, and other recognitions for research and teaching excellence; and record of competitive funding, including competitive studentships and fellowships.

The successful candidate for this position will be joining the Brain and Cognitive Science group in the Department of Psychology. The successful candidate will be encouraged to build on existing collaborations with colleagues at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI) and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI), which host two research dedicated 3T MRI scanners for adult and pediatric imaging.

The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain an active research program, and to contribute to the Department’s teaching and research supervision in both undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition, some administrative service to the department, the faculty, or the university is expected.
