About the Role
We're hiring an EHS Specialist for a food manufacturing client to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. You'll run inspections, manage environmental monitoring and reporting, and help drive a safe, sustainable, compliant workplace.
Day shift - 8AM - 4:30PM, but flexibility may be required.
What You'll Do
- Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs
- Perform environmental monitoring, interpret data, and prepare written reports (methodology, observations, results, recommendations)
- Conduct internal health/safety and environmental inspections and audits; follow up on corrective actions
- Lead new-hire orientation on health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Administer EHS compliance policies and maintain EHS Key Measurable Indicators (KMIs) and related reporting
- Develop and deliver training on environmental, health, and safety topics
- Enforce plant safety rules, housekeeping standards, and PPE compliance
- Run Daily, Monthly, and Annual inspections
- Co-chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee
- Review accident/incident investigation reports and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain MSDS documentation and EHS paperwork across all sites
- Ensure OHSA compliance and apply understanding of environmental law
- Serve as a Fire Safety Team Member
- Follow GMP, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines
- May serve as an expert witness in EHS-related cases
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety, Environmental/Health Science, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of Environmental and Safety experience
- Working knowledge of OH&S Act & Regulations (Ont. Reg. 851) and Environmental Compliance (EASR, ESDM, NPRI, E2 & RPRA)
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
