We are currently looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Supervisor, the Health & Safety Coordinator will support the implementation and administration of Procon’s Health and Safety Management System while assisting field and office personnel in maintaining safe and compliant work environments. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of the company Health and Safety Management System.
- Support day-to-day health and safety activities across active project sites and company facilities.
- Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, safety observations and field audits.
- Document inspection findings and assist with tracking corrective actions and follow-up activities.
- Assist with incident investigations, reporting, documentation and record keeping.
- Coordinate and maintain health and safety records, training documentation and compliance files.
- Support new employee orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings and ongoing safety communications.
- Monitor compliance with company safety policies, client requirements and applicable legislation.
- Assist in preparing reports, safety statistics and compliance documentation as required.
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors and field personnel to promote a positive and proactive safety culture.
- Support COR®, client audits and other health and safety initiatives as required.
- Perform other health and safety-related duties as assigned by the Health & Safety Supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within construction, industrial or related environments.
- Knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with field and office teams.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) candidate status, or other recognized safety designation considered an asset.
- Working at Heights Trainer, Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification, or other safety-related certifications considered an asset.
- Experience supporting COR® programs and construction safety management systems is an asset.
