Fulltime position - Monday through Friday

The Assistant Manager of Casework and Spiritual Care offers leadership and support across both casework and spiritual care programs at KGM. This role ensures oversight of casework services while cultivating a reflective, supportive environment for our team and fostering connections with community partners to support spiritual care offerings to our residents. This role involves aligning team efforts with KGM’s mission, collaborating across departments and working closely with the Senior Manager of Outreach, Casework & Care in developing and measuring strategic goals for both programs.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Casework and Spiritual departments, managing team members to achieve program objectives through, implementation, and monitoring of program services and activities;
provide coaching and guidance to employees while fostering a trusting environment where team members feel safe sharing challenges, utilizing available KGM resources and thoughtfully guiding individuals to outside support when appropriate;
Manage the full employee lifecycle for the Casework team, including recruitment, training, conflict resolution, performance management and progressive discipline, while fostering a respectful, productive environment aligned with KGM values;
Collaborate with communications staff and community partners to expand the number of workshops delivered annually, while collecting feedback from participants and partners to evaluate impact and improve content;
Support the Senior Manager of Outreach and Casework with operational updates and feedback through documentation and verbal reporting.

Position Requirements

Degree in Social Work, Pastoral Care, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A master’s degree is considered an asset;
Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience in human services or community-based programs;
Proven ability to manage operations, staffing, budgeting, and data systems in multiple programs;
Familiarity with local service systems, referral processes, and business engagement;
Experience facilitating group activities in community, shelter, or support service settings;
Deep understanding of homelessness, substance use, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and mental health challenges;
Excellent communication skills (including public speaking), with the ability to clearly convey information both verbally and in writing to promote collaboration and team cohesion;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and other relevant platforms, for efficient documentation, data analysis, and collaboration;
This position is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector).
