About the Position
We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and engaging Online English Teachers to teach elementary and teenage students. Most of our students are based in Mainland China and are learning English as a second or foreign language.
Our goal is to help students develop practical and confident English skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and communication.
Teachers will use our designated curriculum as a foundation while independently adapting and expanding lessons according to each student's age, English proficiency, learning goals, and individual needs.
Curriculum
Elementary Students — New Magic
Lessons may include vocabulary, phonics and pronunciation, listening and speaking, grammar, reading comprehension, guided writing, games, stories, and practical everyday English.
Teenage Students — Cambridge Prepare & Cambridge Think
Teachers will select and adapt materials from Prepare and Think according to student level and learning objectives. Lessons should progressively develop vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, speaking, structured writing, critical thinking, and communication skills.
We are looking for teachers who can teach beyond the textbook by creating meaningful opportunities for students to actively use English.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging online English lessons to elementary and/or teenage students
- Prepare structured lesson plans before class
- Adapt and expand curriculum materials according to student needs
- Design supplementary activities and teaching materials
- Develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
- Teach vocabulary and grammar in meaningful contexts
- Encourage active student participation and communication
- Adjust lesson content and pace based on student performance
- Provide constructive feedback on student progress
- Communicate with the academic team regarding student learning needs
Qualifications
We welcome applications from experienced teachers as well as outstanding university and graduate students.
Candidates should have:
- Excellent spoken and written English proficiency
- Clear and natural pronunciation
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with children and teenagers
- Ability to independently prepare structured and engaging lessons
- Reliability, patience, and strong organizational skills
- Confidence using Zoom or similar online teaching platforms
University or graduate students studying Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Child Development, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Teacher candidates currently enrolled in a B.Ed. or teacher education program are also welcome.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Previous online teaching or tutoring experience
- Experience teaching children or teenagers
- Experience teaching EFL/ESL learners
- Experience with New Magic, Cambridge Prepare, Cambridge Think, or similar programs
- TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification
- B.Ed., OCT, or another recognized teaching qualification
- Experience designing lesson plans and supplementary materials
What Makes a Strong Candidate?
We are looking for teachers who can do more than simply work through textbook pages.
A strong teacher should be able to identify the learning objectives of a unit and transform the material into an engaging lesson by incorporating speaking activities, vocabulary extension, pronunciation practice, reading and writing tasks, discussion, games, real-life communication, and review activities.

Teaching Demonstration
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete a 10–15 minute online teaching demonstration using sample materials provided by us.
The demonstration will focus on lesson structure, communication, student engagement, teaching style, clarity of explanation, creativity, and the ability to adapt curriculum materials.
Pay: $20.00-$45.00 per hour
