Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist that is willing to learn EDM Carbon to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating various CNC machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering specifications. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CAD and CNC programming, and experience with quality control processes. The CNC Machinist will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality production while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC equipment such as CNC lathes, milling machines, and press brake machines using Fanuc controls.
- Develop and modify CNC programs utilizing CAD software like SolidWorks and other programming tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, including calibration and troubleshooting with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, hand tools, and other measurement devices to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Utilize welding skills when necessary for assembly or repair tasks within the manufacturing process.
- Operate forklifts and handle warehouse logistics as needed for material movement and packaging.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring parts meet quality standards before packaging.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency with CNC programming, Fanuc controls, CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical principles, and machining techniques.
- Knowledge of welding processes, press brake operation, and use of hand tools.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within the warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures including the use of calipers and other measurement tools.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during machining processes.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in manufacturing or machining environments preferred.
- Warehouse experience is a plus for handling materials efficiently.
