Assistant Teacher
Overview
Parkland Early Learning Playschool has a contract position available for an Assistant Playschool Teacher. The successful applicant will support the Lead Teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering enriching, age- and developmentally appropriate activities for three- and four-year-old children in a classroom environment. As a non-profit, parent-run cooperative, you will help maintain positive teacher-parent relationships while working collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, teaching staff, and the parent-run board. The ability to work well as part of a team is essential.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a post-secondary institution.
- Child Development Assistant, Worker, or Supervisor certification (Level I, II, or III preferred).
- Experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Knowledge of child-centred, emergent curriculum programming.
- Clean criminal record with vulnerable sector check (at applicant's expense prior to employment).
- First Aid Certification – Level C.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with children, families, and co-workers.

- Hours of Work: Monday–Friday, 26 hours per week
