Position Overview:
The Extensive Needs Service (ENS) is a program that provides wrap-around service for children and youth with multiple, complex neurodevelopmental, behavioural, medical and physical needs, as well as social vulnerabilities. Providing support for children and families who require access to more intensive health and developmental services, the ENS programis designed to reduce barriers to accessing timely, evidence-based, equity-focused, and trauma-informed treatment for some of the most vulnerable children in the province.
As an integral member of the interprofessional team, the Behaviour Therapist will provide trauma-informed and compassionate assessment and intensive intervention to children, youth and families.
EDUCATION
- Master’s Degree in health profession with specialization in Applied Behavioral Analysis is required.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario is required
- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst in good standing with the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board is preferred.
- Credentialed in Skills-Based Treatment, or willingness to become credentialed within the first 6 months of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive clinical experience, including a minimum of two years providing behaviour analytic services to children and youth with varying abilities who engage in interfering behaviours including aggression, self-injury, property destruction, etc.
- Ability to train and clinically supervise behaviour technicians as well as students.
- Strong knowledge and experience supporting children and youth with neurodevelopmental conditions, acquired brain injuries, and mental health conditions.
- Extensive experience providing parent coaching to implement behaviour analytic strategies across environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge in practical functional analyses and skill-based treatment methods.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and communicate effectively with clients, families and members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Experience with being a positive change agent and quality improvement initiatives is an asset.
