The Public Safety Department – Bylaw Services is looking for a Bylaw Ticket Screening Clerk to join their team in an auxiliary capacity.
In this position you will be responsible for receiving and reviewing disputed bylaw tickets; explaining the dispute resolution process and determining if a ticket should be cancelled or upheld pursuant to policy and past practices. You will provide information, clarification and assistance to internal and external contacts related to bylaw information; prepare and maintain a variety of materials, reports or files; and compose routine correspondence. You will also maintain and update a variety of computer files and data including data related to paid, cancelled and outstanding Bylaw Enforcement Notices (tickets).
You will have general office experience, a minimum keyboarding speed of 40 wpm net, a demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), plus have considerable experience with or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You also possess a thorough knowledge of related bylaws, and regulations together with a strong competency in communication and customer service skills in responding to enquires from the public, including front counter support when required. Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
Salary:
$31.58 per hour
(Pay Grade 15 – January 2026 rates)
Hours of Work:
Hours are variable dependent on operational needs.
