Pay: Starting at $56,000 per year, depending on experience

About Us
Fargey’s Paint & Decor is a locally owned store serving homeowners, contractors, builders, designers, property managers, and commercial clients. Previously known as Benjamin Moore Red Deer, we are building on a strong reputation for premium paint, expert advice, and excellent customer service.
We are looking for a capable, entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the business day to day and help us grow.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys people, sales, operations, and building a business. You do not need to come from the paint industry, although experience in paint, flooring, hardware, building materials, home improvement, design, or contractor sales would be a strong asset.
The right person will treat the business like it is their own. You will lead the team, grow sales, improve operations, build customer relationships, and work directly with ownership.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, schedule, and develop the store team.
- Grow retail, contractor, builder, designer, property management, and commercial sales.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and trade accounts.
- Ensure excellent customer service and practical product advice.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, merchandising, receiving, and daily store operations.
- Manage sales targets, margins, expenses, and overall profitability.
- Improve systems, communication, and accountability within the business.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in retail, sales, operations, or a related business.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- A sales-minded approach and willingness to pursue new business.
- Organized, practical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable using reports, business systems, email, and basic financial information.
- High personal ownership, integrity, and follow-through.
- Willingness to learn the paint, coatings, colour, and decor industry.
Experience in paint, coatings, flooring, hardware, lumber, building materials, home improvement, design, construction, or contractor sales would be considered an asset.
