Job Overview
Reporting to the Design and Drafting Manager, as the Architectural Technologist you will create and review designs and drawings to facilitate the construction of new homes. You also provide technical information and knowledge that supports profitable business decisions.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Understanding and ensuring architectural and structural requirements, elements, building codes and by-laws are followed.

Completing documentation packages, requesting and producing drawings sets and maintaining standard model plan library.

Applying for development and building permits.

Preparing and submitting drawings to building consultants for designs/approvals and/or applying for building approvals from the developer’s consultant.

Preparing printed building packages for on-site construction.

Maintaining project tracking tools and updating team members as needed.

Essential Requirements

Diploma or certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Architectural Technology, Engineering Design Technology, Construction Engineering Technology or related program of study.

Minimum 1 year of relevant drafting and design experience in the Residential Construction industry.

Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.

Comfortable using office equipment, Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and computer aided design software (AutoCAD, SoftPlan, Revit or similar).

Working Conditions
You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Overtime may occasionally be required.
