Position Overview
Bumper to Bumper Fort McMurray is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Parts Technician to join our team as a critical on-site support role at Suncor Base Mine.
This position operates on a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation, working 12-hour shifts, and is integral in supporting the day-to-day maintenance operations of a high-demand industrial environment.
The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between our parts supply operations and the Suncor maintenance team, ensuring timely and accurate parts sourcing to keep equipment operational and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site parts support to Suncor maintenance teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Accurately identify, source, and supply parts for heavy-duty and light-duty equipment
- Process orders, quotes, and invoices using internal systems (X4) and vendor platforms; experience with systems such as Ariba, SAP, and FleetRock is considered an asset, but not required
- Maintain strong communication with internal Bumper to Bumper teams to coordinate inventory and urgent requests
- Manage and track stock levels, including restocking and identifying critical inventory needs
- Expedite emergency and priority orders to minimize equipment downtime
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to all company and site-specific procedures
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with site personnel and key stakeholders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with site safety standards
- Participate in site safety meetings, FLHAs, and adhere to all HSE requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified Parts Technician (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent industry experience
- 2+ years of experience in automotive, heavy-duty, or industrial parts environment
- Strong knowledge of parts for light-duty, heavy-duty, or off-road equipment
- Experience in a site-based or industrial environment is a strong asset
- Proficient with parts cataloguing systems
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
Work Schedule
- Rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off
- Shifts: 12-hour days
- Includes weekends and holidays during the scheduled rotation
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible for site access at Suncor Base Mine
- Willingness to complete all required safety training and site orientations
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, moving parts)
- Successful completion of drug and alcohol testing is required prior to site access; ongoing periodic testing will be conducted as this is a safety-sensitive position
