Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining Truck and trailers and related equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of heavy and industrial machinery, ensuring safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet. Prior dealership experience and familiarity with heavy equipment operation are highly valued. The Trailer Mechanic will play a critical role in maintaining the safety standards and operational efficiency of our fleet, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers, including brake systems, electrical wiring, suspension, and structural components
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on trailers and associated equipment
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrication as needed to restore trailer integrity
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or other industrial equipment for repair or movement purposes
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards during all maintenance activities
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of trailer components during repairs or upgrades
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
Requirements

- Proven mechanic experience with trailers or automotive repair preferred; dealership experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various systems including electrical, hydraulic, and structural components
- Experience with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or farm machinery is desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, schematics, and welding techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of HVAC systems or industrial equipment is advantageous
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
