Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and HSE-oriented individual to join our team as an Offshore System Controls Technician. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and instrumentation knowledge with applicable trade certification, contributing to the successful execution of complex tasks in a dynamic offshore environment.
Responsibilities
- Reports to Maintenance Supervisor
- Ensure that all instruments/PLC’s/control networks/electrical equipment is maintained and repaired promptly. To investigate defects and submit reports as required
- Maintain a preventative maintenance programme in accordance with the Company’s repair and preventative maintenance procedures as directed by immediate supervisor
- Plan maintenance and repair tasks so as to minimize the effect on the drilling operation
- Ensure that an adequate supply of instruments/PLC’s/control networks/electrical spare parts is maintained on the installation
- Provide such information to shore based engineering personnel as may be required for proper maintenance
- Stand-in for alternative work discipline as required
- Complete any other reasonable Trade Related tasks as delegated by Maintenance Supervisor
- Ensure that all the Company’s reporting system data sheets are completed e.g. Maintenance Repair/Replacement work orders/job cards
Requirements
- Proven experience with system controls and instrumentation with applicable trade certificaton
- Strong mechanical/instrumentation knowledge, including understanding of components and systems
- Ability to read technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- HSE safety leadership
