Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Assist in the fitting and dispensing of eyewear and contact lenses.
- Conduct contact lens training.
- Conduct eyeglass repairs and adjustments.
- Some administrative tasks such as handling patient records/ communication by phone or email and processing insurance claims.
- Assist patients in the frame room with options and styles that suit their needs.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care, contact lens usage, and optical products available.
- Some pretesting may be required.
- Experience in a lab/ edging is an asset but not required.
Skills
- Experience in retail sales or retail management preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to optical products is a plus.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of optical terminology and medical terminology related to eye care is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn about the latest advancements in eye care technology.
