About the Position:
Quill Lake Grocery Store is seeking a skilled Software Developer to design, develop and maintain software solutions that will modernize our grocery retail operations and expand our business capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a community-focused rural retail environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, write, read, test and correct code for new software systems and applications
- Write, modify, integrate and test software code for e-commerce, internet and mobile applications
- Analyze information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of existing systems
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications supporting grocery retail business functions, including inventory management, pricing and promotions, POS integration, supply chain, and e-commerce platforms
- Deploy, monitor and support applications across various platforms, including cloud-based environments
- Collaborate with store management and staff to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
- Design and implement software solutions to streamline supply chain operations, including connections with local suppliers
- Develop mobile applications to enhance the in-store customer experience
- Implement inventory optimization tools to reduce food waste and improve operational efficiency
- Create internal management dashboards for real-time business analytics
- Write documentation for new and updated software
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Experience:
l Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience
l Full-stack development experience with hands-on expertise in front-end and back-end technologies
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript and Python
Experience with frameworks such as React, Angular and Node.js
Solid experience with relational and NoSQL database design and management (e.g. MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Practical experience working with RESTful APIs and system integrations
Familiarity with cloud architectures and platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure)
Version control experience (Git, AWS CodeCommit)
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
UI/UX design experience is an asset
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, etc)
Language of Work: English.
Work Setting:
Willing to relocate. Must live at the workplace.
