Edmonton’s premier independent service shop requires an experienced Automotive Service Technician (AST / Mechanic). The ideal candidate has the following qualifications, attributes and demonstrated abilities:
- Alberta-licensed Automotive Service Technician or interprovincial Red Seal equivalent.
- Five years experience working on German vehicles.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other vehicle problems including evaluation of on-board diagnostic system data.
- Ability to perform major repairs, rebuilding, and component replacement on vehicle mechanical, electrical and electronic, engine, transmission, axle, steering, suspension, brake, heating, and air conditioning systems.
- Ability to perform scheduled maintenance including oil change, chassis lubrication, tune-up, brake re-line, and alignment.
- Ability to road test vehicles to assist in diagnosis and to verify rectification of problems.
- Supplies own basic mechanic’s tool set including imperial and metric wrenches and sockets, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, impact wrenches, torque wrenches, and other tools required to service generic automobile brands. (Manufacturer-specific tools supplied by company).
- Willing to maintain own work area including periodic maintenance of tools and shop equipment.
