Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in operating various saws and machining equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring precise cuts and high-quality fabrication of materials. The Industrial Saw Operator will work closely with other team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.
Hourly Rate starting at $24 based on experience.
Night Shift Premium: $3.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00PM - 6:30PM.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various saws (band saws, circular saws) and manual machine tools (lathe, vertical lathe, milling machine, drill press, iron worker).
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for both cutting and machining tasks.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures) to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Perform basic math to determine material requirements and dimensions.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with production and fabrication teams to meet deadlines and standards.
- Operate forklifts as needed (certification an asset).
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean and efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills related to machining equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Experience operating forklifts is a plus; certification may be required.
- Knowledge of welding techniques is advantageous for fabrication tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
