Job Summary
Speech Road Clinic is a growing community-based clinic providing speech-language and communication services to children and adults. As we expand our services, we are currently seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team as an independent contractor.
This position will have a particular focus on pediatric clients, including children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental differences, sensory processing and regulation needs, motor difficulties, and challenges affecting participation in daily activities.
Services may be provided in the clinic, clients' homes, daycare/school settings, and other appropriate community settings, depending on client needs and clinician availability.
We are particularly interested in an OT located in or near North York, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Markham, and Vaughan areas.

Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments within the clinician's scope of practice
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and recommendations
- Provide occupational therapy intervention based on clients' functional needs and goals
- Support areas such as fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing and regulation, self-care and activities of daily living, play, school participation, and functional independence
- Provide education, strategies, and home programs to parents and caregivers as appropriate
- Communicate with other members of the Speech Road Clinic team as appropriate to support coordinated care
- Provide appropriate direction and supervision to Occupational Therapist Assistants (OTAs), where applicable and within the OT's professional responsibilities and scope of practice
- Maintain professional clinical documentation
Qualifications
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized program
- Experience working with pediatric populations
- Experience supporting children with autism spectrum disorder, developmental differences, sensory regulation needs, and/or motor and functional challenges is considered an asset
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, caregivers, and other professionals
- Ability and willingness to provide home and community-based services
Experience with school-based services, feeding, assistive equipment, developmental disabilities, neurological conditions, or adult occupational therapy is considered an asset.
Schedule & Flexibility
- Flexible, client-based scheduling
- Caseload is determined by clinician availability and client demand

- Clinicians may choose to accept cases that align with their schedule
