The Opportunity
Altrad is currently in search of an experienced Quality Inspector - Insulation, to become a vital part of our team at a prominent Construction Project situated in Kitimat, BC. This role entails a 14:7 roster (or 20:8 roster – depending on the point of hire), working 10 hours per day. Flights and accommodation will be provided for non-local candidates on a Full-Time/Fixed-Term Contract basis. As the Quality Inspector - Insulation, you will be responsible for ensuring sheet metal and insulation works, as applicable, are completed within the project’s approved procedures. To be successful in this role, you should have sound knowledge of Quality legislation, industry and best-practice standards and their relevance to the project.
Main Activities

Actively participate & provide constructive feedback in all training programs provided.

Commitment towards facilitating a safe working environment.

Perform formal site audits and random inspections.

Conduct quality re-focus sessions as required.

Assist in offering advice and support to all site personnel on quality matters.

Liaising and communicating with the appointed Client liaison and other relevant staff.

Investigating non-conformance and reporting findings to line management.

Ensuring implemented procedures are effective and relevant to site specifications.

Participation in relevant re-focus sessions.

Review and monitor Quality performance.

Review and implement procedures and systems of work that are relevant to site.

Provide reporting to the QA/QC Manager on the quality of works performed.

Inspect the works to ensure application as per the required specifications, procedures and ITP.

Survey, monitor, check, verify and sign off compliant works in accordance with the relevant ITP.

Ensure materials are received, stored, transported and applied in accordance with approved procedures and manufacturer’s guidelines.

Ensure correct materials are being used in accordance with project specifications.

Ensure adherence to Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
Job Requirements

ICorr certified.
-
5 years relevant industry experience including 2 years QA/QC experience.

Knowledge and expertise of Quality inspection practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to the operations of the project.

Sound knowledge of Quality legislation, industry and best-practice standards and their relevance to the project.

Previous experience in working large scale industrial projects is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred.

Relevant experience in an industrial services organisation as well as LNG site experience.
