Job Overview
CedarBrook Montessori School is seeking an experienced, organized, and passionate Centre Supervisor to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our new licensed Montessori school in Oakville. This position is ideal for a strong early childhood leader who is committed to providing high-quality care, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and fostering positive relationships with families.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration, staffing, licensing compliance, and educational excellence of the centre while creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment for children, families, and educators.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Centre Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the childcare centre and ensure smooth program delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators, assistants, and support staff.
- Manage staff scheduling, attendance, breaks, and daily staffing adjustments to maintain required ratios.
- Conduct staff meetings, performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all Ministry of Education, CCEYA, and Halton Public Health requirements.
- Develop and maintain centre policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain licensing requirements and ensure the centre remains inspection-ready at all times.
- Manage children's files, staff records, attendance, incident reports, and all required documentation.
- Coordinate enrolments, waitlists, withdrawals, and parent documentation.
- Oversee food orders, kitchen operations, inventory, and centre supplies.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate administrative records using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Support payroll and administrative tasks as required.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with current and prospective families.
- Conduct centre tours and support the enrolment process.
- Respond professionally to parent inquiries and concerns.
- Plan and coordinate centre events.
Program & Staff Support
- Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure high-quality educational programming.
- Support educators in planning engaging learning experiences aligned with Montessori philosophy, How Does Learning Happen?
- Monitor classroom quality and provide coaching and feedback.
- Step into classrooms as needed to maintain ratios and support children's learning.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Montessori teaching experience or a MACTE-accredited Montessori certification is required. Candidates with both RECE and Montessori qualifications will be given preference. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a childcare centre is required.
- Thorough knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry Licensing requirements, and Halton Public Health regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong administrative and computer skills, including proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead a diverse team while maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Bilingual skills are considered an asset.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
Requirements
- Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Oakville before commencing employment.
- Successful completion of all required background checks and documentation for employment in a licensed childcare setting.
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
