SkyPointe II Complex Mental Health Rehabilitation Program is a 32-bed Addiction and Mental Health Continuing Care unit located in Skyview, Calgary. This community-based program offers a supportive environment with amenities such as a community kitchen, craft areas, library, group spaces, quiet rooms, and a fitness area to promote rehabilitation and recovery. Working collaboratively with AgeCare and a multidisciplinary team, staff support clients in maintaining psychiatric stability while building the skills needed for successful community reintegration. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide care using Patient- and Family-Centered, Recovery-Oriented, Trauma-Informed, and Psychosocial models. The LPN works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members, peace officers, and partner agency staff to deliver care both on-site and in the community. This role requires independent practice with limited supervision. The facility also co-locates other programs (Long-Term Care, Supportive Living, Hospice), with opportunities for shared and integrated programming. As a key member of the treatment team, the LPN facilitates groups, participates in case conferences, contributes to care planning, and supports medical and psychiatric appointments. Responsibilities include administering and monitoring oral and injectable medications, observing for side effects, and supporting overall client care and recovery.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and Recovery Alberta policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.
