Position: Retail Compliance Representative
Job Type: Short-term contract, M-F
Duration: Approximately 5 months
Location: Central Core of Kitchener area, Bruce/Grey Bruce (extends to Miller Lake), Lake Huron Corridor (extends to Sarnia), Southeast Cluster (extends to Springfield)
Pay Rate: $21/hour + Mileage

We seek Compliance Representatives for the IESO Home Renovation Savings (HRS) Appliance Program. We are looking for detail-oriented, self-motivated individuals passionate about energy efficiency to join our team as a Retail Compliance Representative. The Representatives will work on behalf of the IESO at select retailers across Southwestern Ontario. The Compliance Representative will be responsible for ensuring that designated retail locations comply with Summerhill's standards and will report on compliance.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working independently, hold a valid driver's license, have access to a reliable vehicle, and have a genuine interest in the environment and energy conservation. This position requires travel, and the Ideal candidate must be comfortable with extended driving time.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure POP materials are correctly set up with accurate rebate details (amount, product eligibility, and IESO website).
- Communicate with local staff about the importance of having POP on display.
- Verify eligible products are marked using approved materials (hang tabs, tent cards, aisle blades).
- Check the store posters/POP materials, ensuring they are in appropriate locations and that there are no missed opportunities.
- Take photos of the POP displayed at each retail location and send photos to the Summerhill contact
- Handle calls to remote locations to confirm the POP is in place and in good condition , and request that photos be sent to the Summerhill contact provided.
- Conduct follow-up in-person visits and calls to any non-compliant stores (less than 80%) or stores that need additional support. If required and permitted, the Compliance Representative will assist store staff in putting up POP.
- Answer questions about the Rebates campaign or direct inquiries to the Program Manager.
- Submit a detailed report via Microsoft Forms to document compliant checks and highlight any takeaways from store visits or calls.
- Conduct compliance visits to all participating stores, including phone calls to remote locations, to ensure POP is taken down at campaign end

Job Qualifications/ Requirements
- Access to a reliable car with a valid driver's license and provide proof of insurance
- Familiarity with Google Maps and route mapping software
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Flexible schedule to accommodate in-store visits.
- Self-motivated with a high level of reliability

- Possess a smartphone with a data plan (reps will be compensated for data usage for reporting)

- Demonstrate a friendly and professional manner and appearance
- Education and/or experience in energy efficiency or related fields are considered assets.
- Merchandising experience is an asset
Working Conditions
- Occasional heavy lifting required, up to 45 lbs.
