Are You A Musician? Would you love to share that talent and passion?!
Lethbridge Music Academy is seeking outgoing and talented musicians to work with our 550+ weekly students! Schedules can range from casual substitute teaching (great for those with other commitments or looking to teach on the side) to part-time and full-time teaching positions.
Work Availability is subject to the needs and schedules of each specific instrument at the Academy. However, we're always looking to meet new musicians to work with now or when the need arises in the future. We can be very flexible in this regard, and would love for you to reach out to chat about your preferred instrument(s) and what contracts are available.
Here are some of the reasons you may want to teach for us...
1. We will take care of all billing, student communication, advertising, scheduling and customer service. All you have to focus on is teaching engaging lessons, and bringing a high-energy and positive experience to your students each week! Our number one priority is making sure students learn to love music, and have a good time doing it, and you will have total control over that process. Our professional, full-time office staff will take care of everything else!
2. We can be flexible to your teaching schedule and needs. Although our busiest hours are weekdays from 4 PM to 8 PM, we're open from 10 AM on weekdays and 11 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays, and students are coming at all open hours.
3. You will still get paid if a student doesn't show up. No more chasing down payments! And when most students take a break for the Summer, forcing their teachers to do the same, we've seen significant growth each year, keeping upwards of 80% of our students while enrolling new ones all the way through!
Being comfortable using online video apps such as Zoom will be beneficial, as a small percentage of students are taught online.
A University education is not required, but teachers need to be competent in their instrument to at least teach up to intermediate levels. We offer lessons to all ages and all skill levels, so experience with kids is extremely helpful. Please be prepared to answer questions about your musical experience.
All teachers must also be willing to submit a current criminal record and vulnerable sector check before beginning with us. We primarily work with children and their safety and comfort is very important to us.
All applications will be accepted by email (or this website) only.
