Health Services Coordinator
Oshki-Giizhig is an Indigenous-based non-profit organization. Our vision is a healthy community built on Indigenous journeys towards wellness. Our mission is to walk beside, advocate and support people living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and or other disorders. Strengthened by cultural practices and traditional teachings, supporters will assist in restoring balance to individuals and the community affected by trauma and violence.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among nurses/participants/staff for our drop in programs
- Establish and coordinate relationships with other healthcare services/external agencies for program development and implementation
- Coordinate care plans and services with external partners
- Research and identify potential resources and grants for health care
- Prepare and submit grant proposals to secure funding for healthcare programs
- Adhere to PHIA/FIPPA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of participant information
- Facilitating Health Programs: Engaging and Presenting to Participants
- Organize and maintain participants’ medications, ensuring all prescriptions are current and accurately documented on MAR (Medication Administration Record) sheets. Dispose of any unused medications after two weeks, following program protocols.
- Organize, maintain, and monitor harm reduction and prevention supplies, including inventory and ordering of required supplies
- Serve as a member of the Health and Safety Committee, actively participating in meetings, workplace inspections, incident reviews, and the promotion of a safe and healthy work environment
- Collaborate with Case Managers, Case Workers, Support Mentors, and the Housing Team to support medication management processes, ensuring participants receive appropriate assistance, monitoring, and follow-up in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Clinical Support to the Administration team
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in a healthcare related field, social justice, Indigenous studies, health related and/ or a combination of pertinent experiences in these areas. Experiences with cultural activities and understanding of Indigenous concepts of care and support. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with healthcare providers, staff, and external agencies.
Additional Requirements
Criminal Record Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
Hourly Wage: $25-$29.00 hourly
