Duties
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients to support chefs and cooks
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness by washing dishes, cleaning workstations, and sanitizing kitchen equipment regularly
- Support food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene compliance across all kitchen operations
- Help with food service activities such as setting up serving areas and assisting with plating when needed
- Ensure the kitchen area is organized, stocked with supplies, and free from clutter to facilitate efficient workflows
- Follow all health and safety guidelines diligently to create a safe environment for staff and customers
- Support the broader hospitality team by assisting with general cleaning duties and ensuring the kitchen meets cleanliness standards
Experience
- Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is most important
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and basic cooking skills is advantageous
- Experience in cleaning or maintaining commercial kitchens will be highly valued
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food service operations enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Previous hotel or restaurant experience provides a strong foundation for understanding hospitality standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
