We are looking for an experienced Field Service Power Generation Technician (Electrical) to join the T&T Power Group team.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Service Power Generation Technician is required to perform advanced electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, planned maintenance, and mechanical repairs on prime, continuous, and emergency standby power generation systems across industrial, commercial, and institutional customer sites.
TERMS
- Position: Permanent, Full-Time, Hourly Rate, Overtime eligible
- Schedule: Monday – Friday with rotational on-call shifts, after-hours site response, and travel to customer sites as required

REQUIREMENTS
Certification & Licences:
- Preferred: Active Red Seal Electrician (Construction / Industrial) with solid prime mover / engine experience, OR Red Seal Heavy Equipment / Heavy Duty Mechanic with strong, proven electrical diagnostic capabilities.
- Driver's Abstract: Valid Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
- Safety & Travel: Willingness and ability to travel to remote customer sites and participate in rotational on-call coverage.
Technical & Electrical Knowledge:
- Power Systems: Strong background in AC/DC power distribution, High Voltage / Low Voltage (HV/LV) systems, alternator ends, rotating rectifiers, and Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVRs).
- Controls & Switchgear: Experience troubleshooting digital master control panels, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), paralleling switchgear, and safety shutdowns.
- Standards & Compliance: Solid working knowledge of CSA 282 standards for emergency electrical power supply for buildings.
- Diagnostics: Proficiency with electronic diagnostic platforms (e.g., Cummins Insite, CAT ET, Volvo Tech Tool, DSE/ComAp/Deep Sea software).
Assets:
- ASTTBC / ASTT Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with natural gas, propane, and diesel fuel systems.
- Valid safety tickets (e.g., First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Arc Flash safety training).
JOB DUTIES
- Advanced Electrical & Controls Diagnostics: Troubleshoot, test, and repair generator control systems, digital engine management systems, AVRs, excitation circuits, sensors, governors, and ATS units.
- System Testing & Load Banking: Conduct semi-annual and annual Planned Equipment Maintenance (PEM), full-load tests using building loads or portable resistive/reactive load banks, and CSA 282 compliance inspections.
- Engine & Mechanical Servicing: Perform planned maintenance, fluid analysis, belt/hose replacements, and minor-to-major repairs on diesel and natural gas engines (including Cummins, CAT, Perkins, Volvo Penta, Deutz, and Mitsubishi).
- Commissioning & Field Support: Assist with field commissioning, wiring verifications, parameter adjustments, and troubleshooting on multi-megawatt systems.
- Documentation & Safety: Accurately document service worksheets, load bank logs, timesheets, and safety inspection reports. Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, Arc Flash, and Environmental policies.
- Customer Focus: Represent T&T Power Group professionally on client job sites, delivering clear technical updates and recommendations.
PHYSICAL & SITE REQUIREMENTS
- Heavy lifting (ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs)
- Safe navigation of industrial equipment spaces, generator enclosures, and electrical rooms
- Strict adherence to all PPE, Arc Flash, and Health & Safety regulations
Wage: $42.00 – $52.00 per hour (Wage is strictly dependent on trade certification level, dual-trade credentials, and direct power generation field experience)
