Be the welcoming face of Bon Accord and help keep operations running smoothly. Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Office Clerk 2 for Bon Accord.
The Office Clerk plays an important role in the daily life of the school by ensuring that key administrative, safety, and communication functions run smoothly and efficiently.
Reporting to the Principal, this position helps create a welcoming and well-organized school environment where students are accounted for, families are informed, and staff are supported in their work. From managing attendance and emergency documentation to supporting supervision, events, and communications, the Office Clerk contributes directly to student safety, school organization, and positive relationships within the school community. Through consistent attention to detail and responsive service, this role helps ensure that the school operates in a coordinated and supportive way each day.
Bon Accord Community School offers K-4 programming and is located approximately 20 minutes north of the City of Edmonton in the Town of Bon Accord. The school has a student population of approximately 240 students and a dedicated teaching and support staff working together as a team to provide exemplary education to all students. The school nurtures a safe and caring environment by offering various programs to encourage strong leadership. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain student attendance records using the school's student data system
- Update student documentation for emergency procedures and medical protocols
- Support student supervision as directed by administration (e.g., recess, in-school suspension, test supervision)
- Prepare emergency documentation in alignment with Hour Zero procedures
- Coordinate field trip logistics, including booking buses and ordering supplies
- Assist with planning, organizing, and delivering school events
- Provide reception and communication support for staff, families, and community members
- Maintain visitor logs and ensure adherence to safety procedures
- Support internal and external communications, including social media updates and school signage
- Monitor hot lunch orders and process related payments
- Provide first aid and medication administration as per training
- Assist with routine clerical tasks and general office duties as required by the Administrative Assistant or Principal
What Success Looks Like
- Student attendance records are accurate, current, and consistently maintained in the student information system
- Emergency documentation and medical protocols are updated and readily accessible to support student safety
- School visitors are welcomed professionally, logged appropriately, and directed according to safety procedures
- Field trips and school events are well-coordinated with accurate logistics, bookings, and communication in place
- Internal and external communications, including signage and social media updates, are timely, clear, and aligned with school messaging
- Hot lunch orders and related payments are processed accurately and efficiently
- Supervision duties (e.g., recess, in-school suspension, test supervision) are carried out responsibly and contribute to a safe environment
- First aid and medication administration are provided accurately, calmly, and in accordance with training and protocols
- Administrative and clerical tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and within expected timelines
- Confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion are consistently demonstrated in all aspects of the role
- Staff, students, and families experience a supportive, organized, and responsive front office presence
- You are recognized as a reliable, approachable, and essential contributor to the smooth operation of the school
What You Bring
- Administrative Assistant Certificate or High School Diploma with a minimum of one year of related office experience
- Current First Aid certification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and fee management software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and courteous demeanor
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and ethical judgment
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively
- Friendly, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
