Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated First Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong background in food service. This role involves preparing high-quality meals, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. The First Cook will work closely with the kitchen staff to deliver exceptional cuisine in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
- Serve meals efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs for replenishment
- Support other kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure timely service
- Follow food safety guidelines at all times to prevent contamination or spoilage
Experience
- Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, meal preparation techniques, and food safety protocols is essential
- Experience with serving and handling various types of cuisine is advantageous
- Familiarity with restaurant or hospitality environments will be beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
