Join our dynamic Labour & Delivery team at the Rockyview General Hospital, where we provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care across the perinatal continuum. Our unit includes 7 Triage beds, 5 Antepartum beds, 10 Labour beds, 2 Operating Rooms, and 2 Recovery Room beds. As an L&D Registered Nurse, you will use your critical thinking, assessment skills, and compassionate communication to support pregnant, labouring, postpartum, newborn, and perinatal loss patients. You will deliver safe, evidence‑based care within an interdisciplinary team. Our team values patient and family education, advocacy, and culturally sensitive practice. Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. Additional Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in or completed the final focus clinical practicum (within the last 12 months) in an acute care Level 1, 2, or 3 Labour and Delivery unit, Operating Room, Emergency Department, or Critical Care unit. Demonstrates strong communication, conflict management, and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrates a strong ability to seek out support, feedback, and learning opportunities to maintain accountability for learning and growth Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills, integrating critical thinking and sound judgement Demonstrates strong prioritization and patient care planning skills to provide safe care in a highly organized, fast paced, and complex environment. Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively within a highly complex interdisciplinary team. Ability to hold and maintain monitoring equipment using the arms and walk and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to hold and maintain a squat position while providing labour comfort support. Ability to participate in positioning and transferring pregnant patients under epidural and/or spinal anesthesia. Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment, including but not limited to stretchers and hospital beds with patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the following: Charge Nurse, Operating Room, L&D Triage/OTAS, Antepartum experience. Obstetrical nursing education, such as MoreOB, Perinatal Certificate Specialty Nursing program (i.e. BCIT, or similar). Demonstrated professional development and/or participation in quality improvement initiatives.
