Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Home Center Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations at the home center, assist customers efficiently, and handle administrative tasks with professionalism. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with office software and customer service is highly valued to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist them with their needs in a courteous manner
- Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the home center
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments securely
- Manage inventory levels and report shortages or issues promptly
- Answer customer inquiries both in person and via multi-line phone systems
- Utilize software tools like Mi-9, POS systems
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies
Skills
- Proficiency with Mi-9, POS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette
- Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Familiarity with office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, and printers
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive attitude
- Previous customer service experience preferred but will train
