We are a locally owned and operated paving contractor with a solid reputation for delivering high-quality asphalt and civil construction projects across Alberta. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled and motivated 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Mechanic to join our maintenance crew.
Job Description: As an Apprentice Mechanic, you will assist in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and light vehicles used in paving operations. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced outdoor environment and is eager to learn from experienced journeymen.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on paving and heavy equipment
- Assist with diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Maintain accurate service records and reports
- Ensure safety protocols are followed in the shop and on-site
- Work closely with senior mechanics and operations team
Qualifications:
- 2nd or 3rd year apprentice in the Heavy Equipment Technician
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 with air is an asset)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Experience working with construction or paving equipment is a strong asset
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends during peak season
