Requirements:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The Ideal Candidate would possess the following background, philosophy, and experience:
- Experience teaching in a junior high school setting, with knowledge in all curricular areas
- Ability to program to a variety of levels for student's individualized needs
- Monitoring Behaviour patterns of children and applying appropriate interventions.
- An ability to develop, implement and monitor IPPs for students with cognitive disabilities
- Proven ability to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexible team player who is able to adapt if needed.
- Effective organization skills and classroom management.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining regular positive communications with parents.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic.
- Be a reflective practitioner.
- Ability to utilize technology as an instructional tool.
- An ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans for students with additional needs.
- Possesses a strong ability to create a classroom environment characterized by inclusion, equity, and differentiated instruction.
- A base knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques.
- Has demonstrated an ability to support and meet the needs of FNMI and EAL students in the classroom.
- A willingness to participate in the school community beyond the classroom
- A commitment to continuous professional growth.
- Knowledge of the Collaborative Response Model is an asset.
