PAINTER
The Burnaby School District is looking to hire a full-time Painter to work throughout the District.

This position applies protective coatings to the interior and exterior surfaces of structures and
equipment and prepares surfaces for painting by using a variety of methods. This position is also
responsible for laying out parking lots according to by-laws, code requirements and specifications;
reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications of district buildings.

Applicants must have:
  • Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent)
  • BC or Interprovincial TQ in Painting and Decorating
  • Four years related work experience as a Journeyman
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class 5)
We are looking for a self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member
of a team. Demonstrated ability to work at the level of independence and with the degree of initiative
appropriate to the position is also required.

This position is 40-hours/week, 12-months/year and comes complete with a wage of $32.50/hour (plus a shift
premium of $0.50/hour) and a benefits package including paid vacation/sick days, provincial medical, dental,
extended health benefits, life insurance and pension.

Hours of work will be 2:30 – 10:30 p.m., but may be adjusted due to operational requirements.
