The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) reports to the Director of Care and is expected to coordinate and oversee all aspects of resident focused delivery of care. A Registered Practical Nurse should also promote the values, goals, and philosophy of the Home.
Wage Rate:
The starting wage rate is $32.468/hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive skin assessments ( i.e pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, other skin conditions)
- Develop and implement individualized skin and wound care plans with the interdisciplinary team
- Monitors skin and wound healing progress and revises care plans as needed
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff on best practices
- Deliver education and hands-on training on skin and wound prevention, documentation/assessment, wound dressing techniques, and infection control
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in quality improvement and infection prevention initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and regulations through conducting quality audits
- Ability to coach, mentor, and support team members
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Foot care certificate completed or enrolled (desirable)
- Knowledge of skin and wound prevention and management
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Ability to manage stressful situations and prioritize workload
- Commitment to resident-centered care in long-term care
- Current CPR certification
- Reliable attendance and accountability
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the Home
- All other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of RAI-MDS – AIS certified, if not must be completed successfully within one (1) year of being hired
- Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory reference
