TDE is seeking a Piping Designer to 3D model plant equipment and piping in accordance with company and client specifications. Locate plant equipment to ensure good design practice for operation and maintenance. Generate piping fabrication drawings, material take-offs and piping layout drawings. Provide drawing and data file support for stress calculations, purchasing, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
Includes but not limited to:
- Generate piping fabrication drawings in accordance with company and client specifications to meet scheduled timelines. Including the following:
- Generate plan and elevation drawings from 3D models.
- Generate piping isometric and spool drawings from models along with data files.
- Provide as built updates as necessary.
- Understand and utilize P&ID’s and piping specifications to produce drawings in accordance with TDE and client standards.
- Check and provide markups to PID’s, structural, vessel, mechanical and vendor supplied drawings and data sheets.
- Provide modeling support for electrical and structural disciplines.
- Liaison with shop foreman and pipe fitters during the fabrication process.
- Generate piping material and piping support take-offs.
- Assist with estimates for project proposals.
- Assist with other design/drafting disciplines.
- Assist with development of piping design standards.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5 years experience in plant design and/or fabrication environment.
- Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent.
- Working experience with AutoCad, AutoPlant, Plant 3D, PDMS, CadWorks, in a 3D modeling environment.
- Proficient knowledge of industry best practices.
- Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize activities, adapt to change, and stay focused in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and discretion when working with confidential information.
